What better way to end the summer than with a great family picnic ? provided everyone agrees on a date for the picnic.

A story in last week?s Pique announced that the Parks and Recreation department?s Family FunFest will be Sunday, Sept. 7 at Rainbow Park. Of course Sept. 7 is a Friday this year. The Family FunFest is Sunday, Sept. 9, starting at 4 p.m.

Everyone is invited to an afternoon of food, games and entertainment. Paddle Alta Lake with canoes and kayaks courtesy of Whistler Outdoor Experience or have your future read by Tarot Card Readers while the kids check out the Fire Department?s Fire Safety House or burn off a little energy in bouncing castles. Or enter the whole family into the famous tug-o-war game.

The barbecued feast is provided by IGA, Nesters Market and Blackcomb Catering for $4 a plate.
