Downhill series continues

The fifth stop of Whistler’s Fat Wednesday downhill series was relatively tame, with riders taking on B-Line and the Ho Chin Min trail.

Chris Blount was the top junior in the race with a time of six minutes, 18 seconds.

Jenn Ashton was the top woman, edging out Sylvie Allen 4:13.39 to 4:27.61.

The men’s race, which had more than 20 entries, went to Squamish freerider Shaums March in 2:59.29. Adam Wright was second in 3:12:00, followed by Tyler Morland in 3:14.95. The top 17 men managed to break the four minute mark.

The series continues every Wednesday night until Aug. 27. The races start at 6:30 p.m. sharp, so get there around 5:30 to register. The after-race celebration is at the GLC.
