Downpour delays downhill

The final competition in the three-race Whistler Downhill Series was rained out on Tuesday, prompting organizers to move it to sunnier pastures, hopefully, on Sept. 5.

Originally slated to be a four-race series, the first race was cancelled due to safety concerns. Race organizer Paul Fournier says the third race will go ahead because it’s the big one – all awards will be given out after the last downhill.
