Driver killed near Pemberton 

A 42-year-old woman was killed in a car accident on Highway 99 north of Pemberton Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., Pemberton RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Police responded to the scene of a single car accident about five kilometres north of Pemberton on Highway 99.

The car was traveling southbound and failed to negotiate a corner. It veered off the road and into a tree, killing the driver instantly.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, but believe alcohol was a factor.

The name of the driver had not been released by press time.
