Dual mountain rally looking for teams

If you think you know the mountains really well, can read a map and organize a team, the fifth annual Whistler-Blackcomb Dual Mountain Rally to benefit the B.C. Rehab Foundation is for you. Even if you have none of these skills, you should come out.

If you think you know the mountains really well, can read a map and organize a team, the fifth annual Whistler-Blackcomb Dual Mountain Rally to benefit the B.C. Rehab Foundation is for you.

Even if you have none of these skills, you should come out. It’s a lot of fun, a great way to learn the mountains, and supports a great cause.

Keep in mind that it’s not a race, but a rally – speed isn’t everything.

You can have between four and six people on each team, providing each participant raises $250 in pledges. It is a registered charity so every pledge of $25 or more is tax deductible. Each team will also be provided with lift tickets, a wine and cheese reception, breakfast, lunch and an awards dinner.

Each team will receive a Wild Wild West Dual Mountain Rally map on the day of the rally with the checkpoints clearly marked – there is some lift travel time involved, so a little planning helps. There are 24 checkpoints on the map (24 pictures on a roll of film) with a Western theme.

The team that raises the most money for B.C. Rehab wins first prize, and there will be prizes for best team costume and a hidden time at the check points providing more prizes for the fastest participants.

To register your team in advance, or for more information on the rally, call B.C. Rehab at (604) 737-6383.
