Five songs Im really into this week:
1. In My Bungalow Luddy
"Virtually unknown outside of Jamaica, reggae singer Luddy takes you on a musical fantasy to a remote island in the Caribbean. Catch me in my bungalow with my empress a true notion of paradise all wrapped up into one little song."
2. Summerhyme Jigalo
"A fly, summertime hip-hop track with nice flowing rhymes over one of my newest beats. This one is a collaboration between four Whistler producers: DJ Tone for discovering the sample, myself for producing it into a beat, Jigalo for writing the lyrics and Rob Funk for putting it all together."
3. Here I Come Barrington Levy
"A classic reggae tune that has been around for a few generations but never gets old. Mixing doo-wop jazz and classic roots reggae sounds."
4. Amen My Brother The Winstons
"This funk classic originated in the 60s and contains a drum solo that was sampled and used in countless hip-hop records. Electronic music producers started to speed it up and rearrange it inside samplers to create the classic jungle sound."
5. Rastafarai Sizzla
"I really like songs that tell stories and songs about lifes struggles and this one is at the top of my list. Anything by Sizzla is good and his music is plentiful these days. Listen for my own jungle remix of this on dubplate anywhere you see me playing jungle."
