Sick skating on the Beagle’s big screen

If you’ve liked Emerica’s skate shoe advertisements in the magazines, you’ll like this film. No-nonsense, straight-up skateboarding. Just the boarder, his board and some of the sickest stunts you’ll ever witness.

Follow the entire Emerica team of Ed Templeton, Andrew Reynolds, Heath Kirchart, Erik Ellington, Donny Barley and Tosh Townend as they beat-down any and all threatening obstacles that cross their paths and tease the hottest spots of the globe with their death-defying stunts. Also featuring Chris Senn and the kids of Emerica – Braydon, Spanky, and Herm.

The entire Emerica team practically killed themselves to represent true skateboarding for This Is Skateboarding . It just may be harmful to some viewers. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Be at the Savage Beagle by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, pay your $5 to blow your mind. Afterwards, DJ Seanski spins free for the locals.

Get seduced by Wassabi Collective

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to be spent in a ritzy restaurant or even on the couch by yourself. You could spend it with the Wassabi Collective and get down right dirrrty.

For those wanting a little more spice to get into the spirit of V Day, don your cupid clothes and hit the GLC for Seduction, a love nest of leather and latex proportions. Dress to seduce in semi formal attire, devils, lace, anything raunchy, romantic or risque.

The Wassabi Collective is a high energy live act based heavily on percussion instruments created to deliver non-stop grooves to packed dance floors. Their show includes elements of house, funk, jazz and dub. The music is uplifting and soulful, and the crowd is treated as a part of the show. Each musician in The Wassabi Collective has spent years studying a multitude of instruments. At any point in the show, the members may switch an instrument. The mood of a Wassabi show is further enhanced by the poi (fire spinning) and belly dancing routines carried out by the Wassabi Dancers.

JnB Productions & wildinwhistler.com have gone all out and promise décor by Kit Kat Ranch, visuals by Lush Plush, fire dancers, massages by Kerry, and tons of free giveaways supplied by sponsors The Love Nest, Snomotion, Red Bull, and Vinyl Lab,

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. See The Love Nest, Snomotion or the G.L.C. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Two new jam bands join The Shack

Two free regular gigs have just been announced at the Shack. Wednesday nights are Industry Nights with three local guitar legends sharing the stage each month. Wes Makepeace, Pete from Whole Damn County and Dave from the Dave Crowley Band will play acoustic covers and high energy rock ’n’ roll to help get us over the hump.

Friday nights are Rhythm and Blues nights with some of the guys from the famed Solid Earth Jam Band. Repackaged as the Taylor and Kerr Blues Band, these guys love to party and play damn fine funk, R&B and rock ’n’ roll with special guests along the way.

Both nights offer huge bevy specials, cheap food and lots of give-aways. What more could you ask for? Perhaps the next day off I’m guessing.
