The RMOW has launched its request for proposals for Festivals, Events & Animation programming.
The RFP was placed through BC Bid and is seeking event producers with ideas for its summer programming, including the free Whistler Presents concert series.
The FE&A program is designed to attract visitors while enhancing guest experience for those already in town. Event producers are asked to "attract high-quality acts" that align with the resort brand, deliver positive economic impacts for Whistler, strengthen the town's reputation as a destination for sport, art, culture and entertainment while growing the program "through it's own successes."
The deadline for proposals is Thursday, May 31, so if anyone has any ideas, you best get cracking. For more information, visit www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.

Art Workshops on the Lake are here
It's that time of year again! Yes, it's time to take in the exquisite beauty of Alta Lake whilst fumbling through your first landscape portrait ever.
If portraits ain't'cho kick, the Whistler Arts Council is offering classes in photography, pottery, basket weaving, body painting, graffiti and more.
Altogether, 18 classes will be offered, starting this weekend and running through the summer until late August. Prices range from under $100 to over $400 depending on the class, with discounts for WAC members.
But please don't be fooled by the name, folks. Not all these workshops are located on the lake. While most of them will be held at the Alta Lake Station House, a few will be held in various other locations around Whistler, including Millennium Place.

SAC calls all photographers
The Squamish Arts Council wants YOU...r photographs. Yes, all of your photographs.
Each year, the SAC holds its "I Love Squamish" Exhibit, featuring photographs from professional and amateur photographers and "iPhonographers" alike.
This year, they're looking for images that illustrate the positive things that you love about Squamish. This can include the scenery, the eagles, Fatburger — the whole shebang. All photos covering the areas between the Callaghan Valley and Britannia Beach will be accepted.
To participate in the exhibit, visit the SAC building on Saturdays between noon and 2 p.m. and pin up your unframed photos. A bulletin board will be set up for the exhibit. Unframed photos of all sizes will be accepted.
The fun begins this Saturday. The exhibit will be up until October.

Locals added to LIVE at Squamish
As the LIVE at Squamish line-up grows, a few local favourites have been added to the mix.
The Hairfarmers, Mat the Alien, Vinyl Ritchie and Kevin Shiu will all play the music festival, which will be held at Loggers Sports Grounds August 24-26.
Also added to the line-up are Brett Dennen, LP and Mark Farina.
The festival is now in its third year. Headliners include Tragically Hip, City and Colour, Chromeo, The Sheepdogs, Mother Mother, Wintersleep and The Airborne Toxic Event.

Squamish painter has West Vancouver solo show
Squamish artist Zoe Evamy has opened a solo show of her new watercolours and acrylic paintings at the Silk Purse Gallery in West Vancouver.
With a background in illustration and animation in such animated films as Anastasia and Titan AE, Evamy's show, Dwelling on the Threshold, approaches her work as a "problem to be solved," looking at the symbolism found in the woods of Sea to Sky country and beyond.
Known for panoramic watercolour landscapes, this work is a departure by looking more closely at the wilderness she covers. Her work is also on display at the Mountain Galleries in Whistler. The show at the Silk Purse Gallery runs until May 27.
