The CamelBak Canadian Open Enduro, the sixth stop on the Enduro World Series tour, announced its course for the Aug. 12 race on Tuesday.

The first two stages will comprise a single trail each, with Stage 1 taking place on Micro Climate and Stage 2 happening on Crazy Train. The final three stages grow in complexity, as Stage 3 will take riders from Delayed Fuse to B.C., Stage 4 will run on Heavy Flow, Hindsight and Tunnel Vision, and the finale will start on Top of the World, shifting into No Joke, onto Drop In Clinic, back to No Joke, then running through Little Alder, Expressway, Too Tight, Upper & Lower Angry Pirate, Samurai Pizza Cat, Afternoon Delight and Longhorn before wrapping on Monkey Hands.

Action kicks off at 8 a.m. with the final riders completing Stage 5 between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Skiers' Plaza.

Whistler's Jesse Melamed headlines the pro men's field as the defending champion.

Pro Crankworx action kicks off Saturday

The top mountain bike pros will start Crankworx competition this Saturday, Aug. 11.

That's when the Clif Dual Speed and Style will kick off, taking place at 5 p.m. in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park's Boneyard.

The aforementioned CamelBak Canadian Open Enduro will run Sunday, Aug. 12, while back-to-back downhill races will run Aug. 14 (Garbanzo DH at 3 p.m.) and Aug. 15 (Fox Air DH at 3:30 p.m.). Thursday, Aug. 16 is packed with the Official Whip-Off World Championships at 2:30 p.m. at Crabapple Hits followed by the RockShox Ultimate Pump Track Challenge at 8 p.m. in the Boneyard about halfway up the Joyride course. The pump track event had taken place at Base II in recent years.

Friday, Aug. 17 will see the 100% Dual Slalom in the Boneyard at 6 p.m. while Saturday will see Joyride return to Crankworx's penultimate day at 4:30 p.m. The week will wrap with the Canadian Open DH on Sunday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.

Both leaders for the King and Queen of Crankworx titles enter with healthy advantages, but could certainly see a challenge. On the men's side, New Zealand's Sam Blenkinsop has claimed 740 points compared to 550 for France's Tomas Lemoine and 455 for fellow Kiwi Keegan Wright. As for the women, American Jill Kintner appears to be home and cooled for her third consecutive Queen of Crankworx title with a mind-boggling 1,165 points, but Canadians Casey Brown (765) and Vaea Verbeeck (665) will eagerly seek to overthrow her.
