Explosives discovered

Squamish RCMP have charged 41-year-old Neil Mattson with possession of explosives and possession of stolen property as well as several motor vehicle act charges following the discovery of a quantity of explosives in the community last week.

The Squamish resident was scheduled to appear in provincial court in North Vancouver on Feb. 22.

The RCMP believes the explosives discovered are the same ones stolen from the Sea to Sky University construction site in January.

The explosives were found in a shed at 4 th Avenue. Explosive detection units attended the site and removed them.
