It’s a family affair The Whistler Fall Affair is being billed as the weekend everyone will be talking about. The PAC associations from both Whistler Secondary and Myrtle Philip Community Schools have put together a fund-raising schedule that covers all the bases and whips up something for everyone. As they say: "You may have heard the gossip about this Fall Affair but here are the juicy details." On Friday Night Oct. 2 there will be a high school dance at the GLC for Whistler Secondary students. Called Sight and Sounds, the event features two djs, two video screens, a dazzling sound and light show and mega prizes from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for sale in advance at noon hour in Simon’s Hut at the high school. Guest permission forms and tickets must be completed by noon Thursday before the event. On Saturday, Oct. 3 the little brothers, sisters and parents can come out of the house and join in the action at Myrtle Philip Community School between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the fun-fair. There will be a mid-way with games for all ages, including Speed Gun Baseball, Hockey Shooter Tutor, a Decorator’s corner with face painting, braiding manicures and tattoos (non-permanent), the Fish Pond, Golf Putting and a whole host of other prize-winning activities. Food-wise there will be a Great Fair Food Concession Stand and a Tea Room. The Affair continues on into the night when the Other Fire-fighter’s Ball & Auction starts smouldering at 7 p.m. in the GLC. Ticket sales are brisk at $15 and are available from one of your local good-lookin’ fire-fighters, or any of the attractive souls at the Secondary School Activity Office and from the luscious PAC volunteers.
