Black bear researcher Michael Allen continues his popular slide show series Thursday, Aug. 30 at the Chateau Whistler Resort.
With fall just around the corner this month’s discussion is entitled Hungry Black Bears; Fall Feeding Frenzy. Topics to be discussed include: how bears can consume 200,000 berries each day, converting berries to winter fat, pregnancies and weight gain, berry crop failures, bears in residential areas, and bear proofing and encounter guidelines.
Last month’s slide show attracted 90 people, so get to the 7 p.m. show a little early.
Tickets are $10. for adults and $5. for children. All proceeds support Whistler bear research and education programs.
