I agree with the above poster and Whistler should not rely on cheap foreign labor. I travel to Whistler several times a year I don't live or work there. From what I have seen maybe the business association needs to step back and re-evaluate growth potential in Whistler. We all seem to be infatuated with expansion and building but realistically the jobs that are required are considered transient or temporary positions with most people. There are only so many people willing to live and work there in exchange for skiing and biking privileges. In Vancouver the turnover for these positions are probably equivalent but we have the population with schools full of students to feed these vacancies. With Whistlers population at 10 000 taking into account the unemployable...retirees etc does not leave a lot of options. Just because you build it doesn't mean the workers will always come.
