The Women of Whistler are hosting the women of council at the next WOW meeting.

The three female councillors, Kristi Wells, Caroline Lamont and Marianne Wade, will share their stories on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Millennium Place.

They will be discussing their views on recent issues in the resort and looking ahead at what’s in the future for council. They will also share their personal experiences about life as a Whistler councillor.

Wells has been a councillor for more than a decade after being elected for the first time in 1993 to a council led by Mayor Ted Nebbeling.

Lamont and Wade are two of the three new councillors who were voted in at the last municipal election in November 2002.

WOW is a group that allows Whistler businesswomen to network, gain knowledge and share ideas with other women in the community. Guest speakers are invited to the meetings every second month to increase awareness of trends and activities in the business community, among other things.

To register for the next event log on to the Whistler Chamber of Commerce Web site at www.whistlerchamber.com. Or call Mecki at 604-932-5922 ext. 12 to RSVP.

The evening is $27 for non-members.

The female councillors will be on hand from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Jan. 13 meeting.
