A late-night dispute over a taxicab reportedly led to a man being beaten bloody by three attackers early Thursday, Nov. 27.

Police were notified of the apparent fight around 2 a.m. by a taxi driver who said someone "was punched in the head" near Lot A in the village, said Whistler RCMP Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair. Officers attended and observed a man lying on the ground with blood coming from his mouth.

A witness at the scene told police the alleged victim got into a fight over a cab with three males, who knocked him on the ground and kicked him in the face. Both the witness and the victim were unable to provide descriptions of the assailants, who were taken to an address on Panorama Ridge. Police were unable to track down the group.

Police believe a series of vehicle break-ins at an underground parking garage in Whistler are linked.

Items stolen include an iPhone, charger, three pairs of sunglasses, key cards and bike cage locks. Police subsequently contacted the strata management company in charge to deactivate the stolen garage key cards and change the locks on the bike cage.
