Film Festival box office opens for advance pass purchases

The Whistler Film Festival has opened its on-line box office for advance pass purchases.

The festival is currently offering five different passes ranging from the basic "Cinematic Six-Pack" – a six-films-for-the-price-of-five deal for $45 – to the $299 VIP pass, which offers admission to all screenings, workshops, receptions and special events.

The three most expensive passes are currently available at an advance purchase 20 per cent discounted rate and will increase to full value as of Nov. 15.

Pass purchases allow festival-goers to pick their films in advance – an advantage considering many screenings were sold out last year, leaving many filmgoers who didn’t plan in advance out of luck.

Festival program director Bill Evans is expecting to release this year’s lineup on Nov. 1, after which time box office staff will aid pass-holders in the selection of their films. Tickets to special events and single films will go on sale following the lineup announcement in early November.
