What: Every Woman in the World Conference

When: Aug. 11-13

Where: Whistler

The Every Woman in the World Conference hosts all-day workshops Aug. 11 to 13, giving women the opportunity to exercise their passions while at the same time discovering new ones in a supportive all-woman environment.

"Originally, the event was about being inspired by other women, but now coming into its third year it's grown to being more about what participants have received from the event. An incredible amount of inspiration comes out of that environment," said event founder Kerri Carlson. "The aim is for women to come away with something you can reflect on with renewed inspiration to fulfill your goals and dreams."

There is plenty to dream about with 35 workshops to choose from over the weekend.

"You can take as many or as little classes as you want," Carlson said. "It’s all up to you."

Some of the workshops to look forward to include aerobics, belly dancing, boot camp, Charleston, Chinese medicine, clearing the clutter, drum circle, emotional freedom technique (EFT), getting it together, hip hop, Korean hand therapy, maintaining healthy skin, mountain biking for all levels, Nia technique, nutrition, Pilates, personal financial planning, personal reflection leadership walk, personal goal setting, pole dancing, real estate 101, Reiki, running, self-defense karate, stretch & strength for posture, striptease & lap dancing, spontaneous art, tai chi, Vedic astrology, wake-up sexy, walking, yamuna body rolling and yoga.

The conference also includes a welcome reception with live entertainment Friday, Aug. 11 at the Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC) as well as a dinner soiree called Celebration of Movement Saturday, Aug. 12 at La Rúa with guest speaker Darlene Samer of Leadershape, who will talk about finding the arc of flow when navigating the twists and turns of complex busy lives.

Workshops are held at Spruce Grove, MY Millennium Place and the Summit Lodge.

Workshops are $225 for the weekend. The fee also includes the welcome reception and Sunday lunch. An accommodation-workshop package at the Summit Lodge is also available for $545.
