The next Olympic Bid Fireside Chat will be steered towards reviewing transportation plans for Whistler area venues. Dena Coward and Bill Murray, both with the Bid Corporation's Transportation Work Group, will outline ways to move the athletes, officials, spectators and others, around the village and the Callaghan Valley during the Games. The Chat is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Maurice Young Millennium Place. Discussions regarding the transportation options for the Sea to Sky Highway will be discussed at a future Fireside Chat.
The race is on for the third annual raffle at the Myrtle Philip Community School and tickets are going fast. Currently Ms. Allen’s class holds the lead for the most ticket sales in the Grade 5-6 category. In the other categories, Grades 3-4-5 and Grades 1-2/Kindergarten, the race is too close to tell. The raffle draw is on Dec. 11 but the tickets have to be turned into the school by Friday, Nov. 30.
Its time to get your pets primped and preened for their Christmas photos. WAG's annual Santa Claus photos will be snapped at the Village Gazebo (opposite the GAP) on Saturday, Dec. 1. For a $15 donation, WAG will provide a 4x6 photo of your pet with Santa, a paw print frame, ceramic tree ornaments personalized with your pet's name, holiday dog cookies and warm drinks and munchies for people. The photo shoot begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.
