Flag Stop Theatre & Arts Festival

When: Aug. 11-13 2017
Price: $25-$40
This year’s lineup features a wide variety of theatre, music and comedy acts showcasing artists from Whistler, the Sea to Sky area, across B.C. and Canada. Friday night on the floating stage features roving musicians, clown performer Siobhan McCarthy’s #freelove, the premiere of Vancouver Island playwright Dennis E. Bolen’s new parlour comedy, Art, followed by a live performance by Vancouver band Bocephus King inside the lodge. Dinner, drinks and dancing are all part of the night. Saturday evening starts again with roving musicians, followed by stand-up comedy on the floating stage by Toronto comic Pat Thornton. North Vancouver playwright John McGie’s new hilarious comedy, Womb Service, will then be performed on the floating stage, followed by the magic of the Lantern Boat Parade on Alta Lake. The night winds out inside the lodge with the swing, gypsy, punk sounds of Vancouver band Devil in the Wood Shack. Sunday afternoon is a great way to wind out after a busy festival weekend relaxing by the lake with a cold drink and a tasty lunch from the Cypress Point Café while Will Ross gets the groove going on the back porch. Tickets available at thepointartists.com.
