The Glasgow Herald called The Bills, “The biggest blast of fresh air to come out of Canada since The Band.”

The Boston Globe raved, “Their sound is panoramic, mischievous, fiercely unpretentious and musically splendid.”

But The Bills dub their music out-right Canadian with the maple leaf’s melting pot stirring up an exhilarating global out reach of acoustic roots music — the perfect fit for the next show in The Real Canadian in Whistler Series staged Friday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. at MY Millennium Place.

The Juno-nominated fivesome are Canuck staples of the North American and Western European folk music scene. The West Coast boys have toured the world with their broad range of North American traditions mixed up with European stylings, Latin rhythms and wandering melodies of the Romany peoples.

From intimate theatres to festival crowds in the tens of thousands, The Bill’s take listeners on a musical exploration that has led to numerous accolades, including 2005 and 2003 Juno Award nominations for Best Roots & Traditional album as well as the 2003 Western Canadian Music Award for Outstanding Roots Release.

The most recent Juno accolade was for the band’s newest album Let Em Run.

Join the folk quintet who celebrates a decade of music making this year. Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for students and seniors, and $15 for children under 12 years old.
