Whistler police are looking for the public's help after a "suspicious male" was seen peering into windows and several items were reported stolen in the same area last week.

According to a release, RCMP were notified on Wednesday, June 24, at around 1:30 p.m. about a man seen looking into residence windows in the 4300 block of Northlands Blvd.

"Twice over the course of ten minutes a male was noticed outside a window and appeared to be peering into the residence. Both times this person was scared away by one of the occupants of the home," RCMP said in the release.

The occupant of the residence contacted police after seeing the male a second time. Despite Whistler RCMP's immediate response, the suspicious man could not be located.

The person is described as a Caucasian male standing around 5 ft. 2 (160cm) tall with a slim build. At the time, he was wearing dark blue shorts with a white stripe and no shirt.

Two days following the incident, Whistler RCMP were notified that "a number of items" were stolen from a residence similarly located in the 4300 block of Northlands Blvd., said the release.

Police received a report of the thefts at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, when, after returning home from a few days away, the occupant of the residence noticed that "several electronic devices and a skateboard" had been stolen from the home.

Once the victim began discussing the theft with his roommate, it became clear the roommate had observed the above-mentioned suspicious person peering into the home two days prior.

If you were in the area on Wednesday, July 24 and may have noticed any suspicious behaviour or a man matching the above description, police are asking for your help. Whistler RCMP can be reached at 604 932-3044 or by calling Crimestoppers.
