Last week’s story on the cancelled KISS concert stated that the municipality “…has brought many major musical acts to the area as the entertainment component of major events, like the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival.
In fact, the RMOW has no role in presenting or organizing the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Sue Eckersley, president of Watermark Communications Inc., the company that produced last year’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival, said they only consult with the municipality for approval, while Tourism Whistler and Whistler-Blackcomb own the festival.
