RCMP say no shots fired

Contrary to a story in last week’s Pique Newsmagazine, the RCMP say there were no shots fired into the door of Tommy Africa’s at approximately 1 a.m. on May 13.

The two dents in the doors, which were thought to have been caused by shots, were probably caused by rocks say the RCMP. Although the bar was led to believe by witnesses outside the club that shots were fired, the two bullets that police found at the scene were live rounds and had not been fired.

A 19-year-old male from Abbottsford is facing a charge of possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose after he was found with a gun in a hotel room after a police investigation.
