For the record

With regard to last week’s article on the Avert snow science database tools, some clarifications are required. First, the article stated that Avert can be used to send forms to the Canadian Avalanche Association, which is technically possible, but the CAA does not yet support data submissions from third party applications. The article also gives the impression that you would need a Level 2 avalanche certification to use the program, but it has also been designed for anyone who has taken an introductory avalanche course. Lastly, the article stated that Avert upgraded its software to work with CAA software, when it was updated to support the CAA’s information exchange standard. We regret these errors.
