For the record

In an Aug. 26 story, Pique reported that Mayor Ken Melamed said that the proponent for Whistler University, Doug Player, has brought forward six different development applications for the Alpha Creek lands since 1996. Pique also reported that the Resort Municipality of Whistler has offered Player land swaps, including less environmentally sensitive property and Player has constantly declined those offers. This week, the mayor clarified that Whistler did not receive numerous proposals over the years from Player, but from agents of the Zen family who own the Alpha Creek lands. Similarly, the municipality's offers to move the density off the site were made prior to Player's involvement.
