The 61 students at the Whistler Francophone school LEcole La Passerelle are currently celebrating the national week of "La Francophonie" from March 10 to 14.
Among the weeks activities was a jeopardy game, and a big bash in the gym with French games organized by the students. The kids also experienced a typical lunch made with maple products or "cabane a sucre," including beans, ham and eggs.
"For all the students of LEcole La Passerelle, it is not only a question of learning a second language but a familiarization with the French culture that is attached to it," said Simonne Thériault, principal of LEcole La Passerelle.
"With the National Week of La Francophonie we are celebrating the recognition of values of the French culture and making sure that this culture lives on for generations to come."
The school is currently accepting registrations from the kindergarten level to Grade 7 for all children who qualify.
