The price of freedom of information was set at Monday's council meeting. Under the Freedom of Information, Protection of Privacy Act the municipality had to set a schedule of maximum fees for the retrieval of information. Under the schedule the maximum fee for non-commercial applicants requesting a record is $7.50 per 1/4 hour after the first three hours. The maximum fee for producing a record manually is $7.50 per 1/4 hour. The cost of copying a record onto a floppy disk is $10 per disk. Plans will cost $1 per square metre. Commercial applicants will be charged the actual cost of providing each service. Municipal clerk Brenda Sims was designated Head of the municipality for the purposes of the Act.
