Fungus Among Us

The 15th annual Fungus Among Us Mushroom Festival kicks off Oct. 12 at the Whistler Museum with the Whistler Naturalists' AGM, followed by a presentation by mushroom guru Paul Kroeger On Oct. 13, there will be a variety of short talks at Myrtle Philip Community School, and gurus will judge mushrooms brought by the public in a variety of fun categories. Admission is $8 for Naturalist members and $10 for non-members. Then, on Oct. 14, get ready to go into the woods to gain some firsthand knowledge on wild mushrooms from the experts. Meet for the walks outside Myrtle Philip at 8:30am sharp. Admission is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. That's followed by wild mushroom gourmet tastings at Myrtle Philip at 12:30pm. Admission is $30 for members and $40 for non-members. The final event is a display of the mushrooms picked on the earlier walks, beginning at 2:30pm Admission is free.
