What events are you going to and why?

George Touhakis, New Brunswick: I'd love to go to some events, but my accommodation is up and we are heading out tomorrow. I was part of the crew building the stands and setting up the biathlon, the ski jumps and the Richmond Oval. We've been going straight for two months, working every day and now we're waiting to see the torch come in before taking off. B.C. is the most beautiful place I've ever been and I can't wait to come back with the crew to tear everything down after the Games.

Scott Roberts, Whistler: I've got two sets of hockey tickets, a women's preliminary event and the bronze medal men's game - the one game where we don't want to see the Canadians. I've got lots of tickets to the sliding centre, the alpine ladies' super G and downhill. We're doing a homestay, which is where we got the tickets to the sliding centre events, and my wife's working at the men's alpine events so the women's speed events were a chance to go together.

We had tickets to the opening ceremony, but we had to sell those. I'm going to be here in the village watching the men's downhill on the 13 th , which is Canada's first shot at a gold medal. We also have tickets to the celebration plaza, but I can't remember which nights.

Kristy Payne, Edmonton/Toronto: We've been on the road with the torch relay, so this is Day 99 for us, but we're really excited to be here. All of us are going to be working at events, but I'd really like to go to some as well, if I get a chance. Whatever's available. After seeing the ski jumps this morning I'd also like to see that in person.

Wallace Leung, Toronto: I have tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies in Vancouver, which I got through a lottery - although I still had to pay the full amount. Still, I'm very excited. I'd also like to see some events at the Richmond Oval.

Aikta Chugh, Toronto: I have tickets, apparently, but I don't know what they're for yet. I used to figure skate so I'd really like to be able to sit up close for an Olympic competition.

Steve Boorne, Whistler: I'm working at the alpine event side-slipping, so it's basically waking, skiing, sleeping for a few weeks but I'll get to see those events. We're also going to the final in the four-man bobsleigh and the medal events in both men's and women's skeleton. We'll probably check out some of the free shows around the village, but it's going to be cool to see Feist at the medal ceremonies for the skeleton event.
