Gardeners dig in at weekend plant sale

Proceeds to Whistler Garden Club and Friends of Whistler Library

Looking for a little dirt this weekend? Feeling the need to get your hands dirty?

The second annual Garden Sale will be held on Saturday, June 10th in the Marketplace parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale is being put on by the Whistler Garden Club and the Friends of the Whistler Public Library.

There will be a wide assortment of plants available for sale, all donated by local gardeners. Since the plants come from Whistler gardens, the plants are all suited to Whistler's climate. As well, there will be hundreds of bulbs for sale, including an assortment of daffodils, tulips and hyacinths. Garden gurus will be on hand to answer questions and give advice.

Carney's composted soil products will be for sale at $5 per bag. Two types will be at the sale: a soil amendment to enrich soil and dig in around plantings, and a top dressing to spread over lawns or anywhere in the garden.

All proceeds from the sale go towards the Whistler Garden Club and the Friends of the Whistler Library. All plant donations are welcome: please bring to the sale by 10 a.m.
