Geisler joins B.C. Centre for Tourism

Intends to support post-secondary schools involved in tourism

The B.C. Centre for Tourism Leadership and Innovation has hired Morgan Geisler as the new provincial communications officer. Geisler joins the Centre after two years as director of sales and marketing for the Arts & Cultural Guide to B.C., a premier resource for cultural tourism promotion and a key visitor service's tool. Prior to this, she worked in management level positions in the hospitality and event sectors.

A lifelong resident of B.C and a graduate of the Tourism Marketing Management program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Geisler's role will be to support and promote the efforts of the Centre's education network, the communities involved in tourism economic development, and tourism training with B.C.'s First Nations.

"British Columbia is poised to become the top tourism and hospitality education destination in the world and we are here to help make that happen," said Geisler, who holds an undergraduate degree in English from the University of British Columbia. "The Centre is also developing a comprehensive online tourism resource centre, which will benefit the industry as a whole."

Geisler is passionate about supporting and promoting the network of 17 post-secondary institutions included in B.C.'s tourism learning system. Her appointment rounds out the Centre's team with general manager, Terry Hood, at the helm, and regional development officer, Tim Schoas, supporting the development of tourism programs and connecting tourism partners within the province.
