With first place landing a $500 cash prize and second place earning a new pair of skis or snowboard, this elementary school game is anything but child’s play at the tournament.

Some people call it “Roshambo”, others “the force” as competitors will face off with fists, peace signs sideways and a flat palm that can only mean destruction for rock.
Basic rules apply: Players compete with three elements of rock, paper and scissors with representative hand signals. Hand signals are played simultaneously with the winning outcome determined by rock winning against scissors, scissors winning against paper and paper winning against rock.
Don’t underestimate the simplicity of the three movements. Competitors can out smart their opponents by pointing the first knuckle of the thumb downward in the rock hand signal – psyching out your opponent into a possible scissor throw.
Don’t be deceived by the seemingly easy paper throw. The sign requires the manual displacement of most digits.
Also think twice about opening with scissors because there is a tendency to reveal the throw too early, giving your opponent an easy counter.
