Green energy speaker to air on Whistler Cable

More than 300 people turned out to take in energy expert Dr. Donald Aitken’s presentation, Renewable Energy — The Right Choice, at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on Oct. 25.

Aitken discussed the various green energy alternatives that are already available to Whistler and to the world, and delved into the economic and environmental reasons that make it advisable to start making the transition yesterday.

There is valuable information on how to implement practical energy solutions for today’s homes and businesses that not only provide an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels, but are simple to implement and inexpensive to use.

If you missed the presentation, Whistler Cable will be airing Aitken’s presentation on channel 6 during the next two weeks. Broadcast times will be at noon and 7 p.m. on the following dates:

Friday, Nov. 16

Sunday, Nov. 18

Tuesday, Nov. 20

Thursday, Nov. 22

Saturday, Nov. 24

Sunday, Nov. 25

Tuesday, Nov. 27

Thursday, Nov. 29

Dr. Aitken was the first presenter in the Leadership Through Sustainable Innovation speaker series, which is being held by Whistler’s Early Adopters to introduce The Natural Step framework for financial and environmental sustainability to Whistler. The vision of the Early Adopters – including the Resort Municipality of Whistler, Whistler-Blackcomb, Tourism Whistler, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, AWARE and Whistler Photosource – is for Whistler to become the first North American community to incorporate The Natural Step framework into its infrastructure.

The next speaker in the series will be Ray Anderson of Interface Carpets Inc. He will speak on Dec. 1.
