Some of the bigger issues facing Whistler, including housing, childcare and drugs and alcohol abuse, will be discussed at the third Healthy Communities Forum, Sept. 25 at Whistler Secondary. Presented by the Whistler Healthy Communities Initiative, the forum is an opportunity for everyone to participate in one of five workshop sessions: families and relationships, housing, childcare, interagency co-operation and drugs and alcohol. Each workshop will be facilitated by a member of the Whistler Healthy Communities Committee and the task will be to create an action plan to tackle each issue. People attending the workshops will be asked to continue to work with their chosen group until their action plan is completed. This will be the third health communities forum held by the Whistler Healthy Communities Initiative. The two previous community forums developed a set of action plans to address issues. Register by fax, including the workshop you would like to participate in, at 932-7270. For more information call Georgann Cope Watson at 932-9661.
