Hedley headlines World Cup

Grammy nominated hip hop artist K-os and Juno-nominated rocker Hedley will headline the mainstage concert scene at the Whistler World Cup Feb. 21 to 23 in Whistler.

For three nights, local and international acts will set Whistler Village a buzz with Canada’s biggest chart toppers hitting the outdoor mainstage set up in Village Square.

DJ Shortfuse and Squamish’s punk rock sensation Black Swade will kick off the concert line up on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m.

Live music goes well into the night on Friday, Feb. 22 with Whistler’s own DJ Foxy Moron a.k.a. Ace Mackay Smith spinning out funky eclectic beats at 2:30 p.m., followed by the gangsters of ska/punk The Johnstones   at 3:45 p.m. and fellow punk rockers Hedley at 4:45 p.m. Hedley will also headline the World Cup Ski Party later that evening at 7 p.m. at the Telus Conference Centre.

The concert line up wraps up on Saturday, Feb. 23 with local hero DJ Vinyl Ritchie at 2:30 p.m., Shad at 3:45 p.m., and the wordplay hip hop of K-os at 4:45 p.m.

The World Cup hosts women’s Downhill and Super Combined as well as men’s Super G and Giant Slalom Feb. 18 to 24 in Whistler.
