Matt and Steph Corker are redefining what it means to say, “Now that’s a corker!”

They are the dynamic sibling duo and principal consultants behind The Corker Co, a human capital consulting firm based in Vancouver. On Nov. 27, they will be the Whistler Chamber of Commerce’s keynote speakers at Women of Whistler: Building the Dream Team.

Team Corker has worked with leaders within multiple industries – from apparel companies such as lululemon athletica, Outdoor Voices, MEC, Aritzia, Knix, and Stitch Fix; technology-based companies like Google and Blackbird Interactive; and service-based organizations such as the Westin Resort & Spa and WestJet.

They believe that healthy leaders lead healthy businesses. Self-described matchmakers, they help companies recruit their next best hire while building and retaining internal talent. They will share their insights into innovative talent acquisition, transformational talent acceleration, and impactful e-learning.

Says Lauren Perkins, Marketing and Communications Manager with the Whistler Chamber of Commerce: "The Women of Whistler are an influential, inspired network of businesswomen striving for excellence [that help women] leverage the power of our collective resources to learn, mentor and share ideas in a supportive environment.”

The evening is designed to inspire and help women (men are welcome, too!) take their companies to the next level. It will support Whistler businesses who want to achieve their own corker: a remarkable or astonishing person or thing.

Key takeaways will be:

  1. How to recruit and develop remarkable leaders
  2. Why managers matter
  3. How you do anything is how you do everything

This remarkable evening will be at Audain Art Museum on Wed., Nov. 27. Registration starts at 5:30 p.m., doors open at 5:45; the presentation and Q&A starts at 6; and networking opportunities are from 7:30 to 8.

Pre-registration is required. Early bird rates — $40 for Chamber members, $55 for future members — are available until Wed., Nov. 13. After that, it’s $45 and $60 respectively.

Registration for Women of Whistler: Building the Dream Team is open until noon on Wed, Nov 27. However, tickets will not be available at the event so please register here, call events manager Olivier Dallaire Dumas at 604-932-5922 ext. 961 or email him here.
