Here’s what’s next as Vancouver and Whistler get ready to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Late summer 2003 — Vancouver 2010 Bid Corporation dissolves Fall 2003 – A new Board of Directors is established for the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games.

Fall 2003 – A new Board of Directors is established for the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games. The OCOG will be responsible to run the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

2004 – Early work of the OCOG will include establishing work plans for venue construction, consultation with existing venue owners and the development of marketing and sponsorship programs with the Canadian Olympic Committee.

2004 – OCOG attends Athens 2004 Olympic Games

2005 – Venue construction to begin. Venues to be completed from 2007 to 2009

2006 – OCOG attends Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, including a cultural presentation at the Closing Ceremonies.

2006 to 2010 – Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad.

2008 and 2009 – Vancouver and Whistler to host "test events" in every Olympic and Paralympic sport. These would be national and international sport events to test Vancouver’s organizational, operational and volunteer programs for the 2010 Winter Games.

2008 to 2009 – Call for volunteers and volunteer training for 2010

2009 – Tickets become available for 2010 events

2009 – The Olympic flame originates always from Olympia, Greece. The torch relay begins 114 days prior to the Opening Ceremony.

2010 –Olympic Arts Festival starts January 15.

2010 – February 12 to 28 - Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler

2010 — March 12 to 21 – Paralympic Winter Games in Whistler
