Honest parent pays back mountains

If honesty truly is its own reward, then one Vancouver parent has something good coming his or her way. Stuart Rempel, the vice president of marketing and sales for Whistler-Blackcomb received a letter on Sept.

If honesty truly is its own reward, then one Vancouver parent has something good coming his or her way.

Stuart Rempel, the vice president of marketing and sales for Whistler-Blackcomb received a letter on Sept. 11 with a $20 bill and a note explaining why. It seems that the sender mistakenly bought a half-day children’s ticket for their 13-year-old son last year when they should have bought a more expensive youth ticket.

"It’s amazing that somebody is so honest," says Rempel. "It’s too bad the letter didn’t have a return address."

Rempel donated the cash to the Whistler Food Bank.
