The search is still on for at least three or four empty suites or units to house the people left homeless in the Alpine House fire on Nov. 10.
But organizer Sue Eckersley remains optimistic that they'll be able to find spots for everyone soon.
"Everyone left to place has an animal," she said.
RE/MAX Sea to Sky is working with local realtors to help find spots. To date they have placed people in five units.
"We haven't finished our job; we need some more places," said Eckersley.
She couldn't say enough about the Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa, which has offered hotel rooms to the displaced fire victims until Dec. 18, giving organizers more than a month to help people.
The Hilton safety net has also been critical in managing anxiety and stress.
"Without the Hilton's generosity this whole process would have just been a nightmare," said Eckersley.
There is still no official cause for the Alpine House fire.
