New centralized on-line reservations If you have any reservations about the growth of information technology, a new system in Whistler may convince you to give it a spin. The Whistler Data Corporation (WDC) has launched a comprehensive Whistler Internet reservations system on the World Wide Web. WDC is made up of Whistler Networks creator Frank Franchini, data processing professional Bruce MacDonald and co-founder of ATI-Advertising Technologies Michael Warne. The system offers an easy-to-use Internet-based administration area for participating properties. This means that when someone from outside Whistler is surfing in this area they can make accommodation requests with participating businesses. They can also purchase discounted multi-day lift tickets in the winter and look at golf packages in the summer. The sophisticated system allows password-protected access for properties who want to adjust rates and availability on the fly and auto faxing of all reservation requests to the participation providers of accommodation. There is no up front charge for businesses using the service as it is 100 per cent commission based. So far the WDC has already enlisted a number of accommodation properties in this area and Whistler/Blackcomb has provided a link from the accommodation section of its new higher.ground.com on-line magazine. WDC president Frank Franchini says they are very optimistic about the venture. "The way that people make reservation in Whistler resort is going to change. We are embarking on an exciting journey, and the future holds tremendous room for growth and opportunity." You can view the new site at www.whistler-ca.com or for more information contact Franchini at 932-1611.
