Intrawest Corporation announced this week that they have selected Burton Snowboards to be the official supplier for the company’s 10 mountain resorts including Whistler-Blackcomb and Stratton Mountain in Vermont, which is also the original home for Burton.

The three-year agreement running from 2005 to 2007 formalizes a relationship between the two companies that started several years ago, said Mark Hulme, Intrawest’s vice president of retail and rental operations.

"Burton Snowboards is an outstanding partner with a history of innovation and product quality. Through this partnership, Intrawest resorts will continue to offer the most advanced snowboarding equipment available to our renting guests, ensuring their on-hill experience will be an enjoyable one," said Hulme.

Intrawest’s rental and retail operations include more than 200 shops, making it the largest ski and snowboard rental chain in North America.

Burton also had good things to say about the partnership.

"We are very excited to be entering into our second agreement with Intrawest and to have the opportunity to support Intrawest’s resorts with Burton’s state-of-the-art rental equipment," said Laurent Patdevin, the president and chief operating officer of Burton Snowboards.
