Whistler-Blackcomb recruit on-line Whistler’s largest employer has made the job application process easier, and perhaps more attractive to those who were procrastinating over a move to the mountains. Just go to www.whistler-blackcomb.com on the World Wide Web, see ‘Employment’ in the company info box, and a job application form will pop up on your computer screen. This new process lets perspective employees apply for jobs at Whistler-Blackcomb and request an interview when it is available. The on-line application is the only form of employee recruitment Whistler-Blackcomb is doing. In previous years the company held recruitment fairs in Calgary and Toronto. During the Whistler-Blackcomb job fair, Oct. 1-31, people in Whistler who do not have access to the internet may use the on-line system in the Whistler-Blackcomb administration building at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. Whistler-Blackcomb would like perspective employees to fill out the on-line application, which includes a 56 question "job fits assessment," then call (604) 938-7366, ext. 3 to pre-book an interview. Although two new ski lifts and one new permanent restaurant (Jack’s Junction), are being added to Whistler Mountain for the 1999/2000 season, the mountains are looking to hire a bout the same number of seasonal employees as last year: 2,000. The on-line job application system is being used for all of Intrawest’s resorts in Canada and the U.S.
