Still no trial date for man charged in Southside Deli shooting No trail date has been set or plea entered for Douglas Randolph (Randy) Johnston following a March 17 appearance at the Provincial Courts in Squamish. Another interim hearing has been scheduled for March 31. Johnston is accused of firing several shots into the Southside Deli in Creekside on Dec. 29. He was charged with careless use of a firearm following a two-week investigation, and released Jan. 12 on a Recognizance of Bail. If he pleads guilty or is convicted of the offence, Johnston faces a maximum penalty of $2,000 in fines and up to six months in jail. The court can also impose a discretionary firearms prohibition.
