KIDSfest 2000 Sea to Sky Entertainment is proud to present its nonprofit venture into children’s theatre. "We wanted to do something with the young people in this community," says the show’s producer Adriane Polo. Although it’s billed as a children’s theatre festival, Polo says the show is geared toward a family audience — plays everyone can enjoy. "We have a great mix of fairy tales, spoofs, comedies and we have a great mix of actors; adults and children. We hope the result will be an enjoyable evening for the whole family," Polo says. The show will be hosted by Tim Schoults. Here is the line-up: SNOW WHITE AND FRIENDS – A fairy tale spoof where the mirror talks back, and Doc and Dopey are hippies. Starring Diane Mills as the diabolical queen and Leeane Peek (Best Christmas Pageant Ever). STAR BRIGHT – Night sky will never be the same, as the stars compete for top honour. Starring Manuel Schulte (Cinderella) and Emma Pederson as one of the stars. JACK, THE BEANSTALK AND CHICKEN – A new twist to an old story where things are not as they should be. Starring Warren Daske (Pyjama Report on Mountain FM) and Kathleen Forbes (Surprise Party). MEET DR FRANKENSTEIN – A group of ghouls meet to discuss a horrifying crisis — the loss of their frightening powers. Starring Skai Stevenson (Best Christamas Pagent Ever) as the evil doctor, and Aaron Purdie as the Wolfman. THE THREE QUESTIONS – A king searches far and wide for answers to his all important questions. Starring Mark Higham (Dracula) as the king, and Brittney Groetelaars as the magician. AN EARTH DAY CAROL – Ebenezer is dreaming again, this time in litter cans. Starring Lyra Rowe (Cinderella) and Shealagh King (Macbeth) as ghosts. Tickets are $5 for children/teens and $7 adults. They are available at IDA Pharmacy and Mostly Books. KIDSfest 2000 runs Thursday-Friday (Feb. 24-25) at 7:30 p.m. in the Eagle Eye Theatre, located in the Howe Sound Secondary School in Squamish.
