Two years after Wendy Ladner-Beaudry was found murdered in Pacific Spirit Park her family has announced a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and charges in the case.
So far no arrests have been made in the case, which shocked the quiet neighbourhood surrounding the UBC campus. The 763-hectare park is popular with runners, dog walkers and cyclists.
Ladner-Beaudry was out for a run when her body was found in the south end of the park along a popular hiking trail. At first, suspicions turned to the park's homeless population, but so far the investigation has not turned up any suspects.
"There is someone out there who knows about this crime," sister Nancy Edmonds told reporters on Sunday, April 3, which marked the two year anniversary since her younger sister was murdered.
She was joined by brother Peter Ladner and other family members in announcing the reward.
"Is there something that comes to mind even after two years?" she asked.
"It could be the smallest thing. Something out of the ordinary."
The wife of Pique columnist Michel Beaudry, Wendy Ladner-Beaudry spent a great deal of time in Whistler at the family chalet and grew up skiing in the resort.
The family wants information quickly, and so the reward offer expires on June 3.
