Lego building competition at library Lego maniacs take note, this year’s Lego building competition takes place at the Whistler Museum on Saturday, Sept. 26 with the first group’s registration at 10:30 a.m. There are three categories to enter. Round one is for kids aged six years and under. After the half-hour registration period between 10:30 and 11 a.m. contestants will have an hour to build their creation on site. Between noon and 1 p.m. there will be judging and awards. After the excitement of round one the action moves on to round two where children aged seven and up will compete for the best Lego construction created between 1 and 2 p.m. Judging and awards will then take place at 2 p.m. If you want to create your masterpiece away from all the pressure of performing on demand you can enter the pre-build category. Based on your own theme and using your own bricks you can take all the time in the world and create your Lego entry at home. Just make sure you have it ready to submit a day earlier than the competition. The drop-off is at the museum between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. You won’t even have to fret for a night over your placing as the winners will be contacted Friday evening. New additions to the event this year will be the concession stall with cold drinks and a free guided museum tour for parents. The museum has seen a 16 per cent increase in traffic since Jan. 1 of this year. If you need any further information contact the museum on 932-2019.
