I would agree with Andrew Mitchell that everyone should buy a gas/electric hybrid.
I would disagree that this would cause the price of gas to drop.
I would argue that the price of gasoline should continue to rise.
I would love to see gas running at 3 or 4 bucks a litre!
How do you think the gas/electric technologies evolve? Or better mass transit systems?
If planet-destroying technologies are cheap, that's what people will use.
Price it out of the range of the masses and you lessen the detrimental aspects we create, forcing us and industry to come up with creative new ways to get around.

Simply put, if cars were not so intertwined with the economy we would never have "Whistler".
Just imagine a world without cars, if you can... if you dare.
