E-mail at the library

In response to many requests from our users, the library will now allow free e-mail access on all the computers. There will be four computers available for advance booking for e-mail or Internet browsing/searching/research. Users may book 30 minutes at one time and up to 1 hour per day. We will still have an "express" computer for e-mail. It is available on a first-come first-served basis for the next available 15-minute time slot. Word processing is still available on four computers for a charge of $2.50 per 30 minutes. All pages printed cost .25 each.

Users can check out our Web site at www.whistlerlibrary.ca for good links as well as access to our online databases. The databases include Ebscohost, which provides the full text of almost 3,000 magazines and journals; Canadian Newsdisc which provides the full-text of 15 major Canadian newspapers and transcripts of various CBC and CTV Broadcast programs; Canadian Business and Current Affairs (CBCA) which provide full-text access to Canadian periodicals, newsletters, daily newspapers, and citations to an additional 400 titles. You can search the databases by keywords or subjects to find articles on almost any topic. In order to access the databases, you must enter the number of your current Whistler Public Library card.
