Blood type diets and metabolism balancing

Long-time Whistler resident Bob Switzer has revised his book Quantum Fitness: The Lazy Guide to Perfect Health and will be sharing his knowledge of the diet he has perfected over the years at a lecture at the Whistler Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

During 50 years of competitive skiing, Bob most recently won the 1995 U.S. Alpine Skiing Masters Championship Triple Gold, the 1996 World Masters Alpine Open Ski Championship Triple Gold and the 2001 Champion Masters Alpine Championship Triple Gold.

His book was compiled from years of experimentation and he thinks that the secret to good health is contained in one’s blood type. He presents a system by which each person can custom build their own health and fitness program specifically for their bodies.

His theory is similar to that of health guru Peter D’Amado, whose books include Live Right for Your Type in which individual requirements for nutrition are based on the four different blood types.

@your library

During the Union of B.C. Municipalities conference in Whistler a reception will be held for all mayors, councillors and regional directors.

The B.C. Library Trustees Association, the B.C. Library Association and the Association of B.C. Public Library Directors have organized this annual event to heighten their awareness of the contribution libraries make in the province.

Did you know that local and provincial funding of our public libraries amounts to less than 20 cents per day? That B.C. residents borrow more than 47 million items from libraries every year? That our libraries answer more than 4 million information questions a year? That Internet access is available to 98 per cent of British Columbians through their public libraries?

Local libraries are an essential community resource, a meeting place for people and ideas, a virtual service, reaching beyond walls to expand resources and add convenience.
