Library officially open tomorrow The Whistler Public Library is having a grand opening at its new Main Street digs Saturday evening. With expanded space at 4239 Main Street, Library Board member Faye Atkinson says the board has been holding a silent auction of literary baskets all week to raise funds and a grand opening will take place Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. An example of a literary basket would contain Stephen King's Firestarter, candles, a lighter and other items dealing with flames, says Atkinson. "It's just an interesting way of getting people involved in the library," she says. Located in the gravel parking lot in Village North, the new library is double the size of the old facility, which was located in municipal hall, and houses the 14,000 volume collection.
